1)A: Ko, Yoko and their mother probably feel really sad because they might not see Hideyo ever again. I also think they left because some Koreans took, I think about 3 girls so the could rape them. I also thought that they left because one of their trains were leaving. So probably they took that chance and went somewhere safer. But they are probably really worried about Hideyo.
B: I don't really know. I think they shouldn't of have left him because now he is all alone and probably will get lost or get captured. And if he gets captured there is no one to save him.
2) Why did they want to separate Hideyo from Ko, Yoko and their mother? Why him?

1. I agree with what you said where they might not see Hideyo again. I agree with that because it is pretty much true, and that is sad that they might not see their brother ever again.
1b. I wasn't that sure of either, but its sad that they left him, though it was the right thing to do. Anyways Hideyo is pretty brave so it's not like they're leaving Yoko behind or something.
2. You should put an answer to your question. Anyways, they seperated him from them because he went to work in the factory. I guess if he didn't work in the factory, the family would be together, but without their dad.

a. I agree with you when you said that they had to leave to get somewhere safer, and that they were worried for Hideyo.
b. It's really sad that they left Hideyo, if he gets to Seol thye won't be there anymore, Hideyo is really brave and I hope he gets through all of this.
Question: Remember in the begining when Hideyo wanted to join the army and he didn't pass the test so they didn't let him, and instead they made him work at a factory, and while he was at the factory Yoko, Ko, and there mother had to leave there home because of the Korean Communest Army. Thats how they got seperated.
