#1) An interesting fact about the Holocaust was when they had to dig deep trenches into the ground. When the soldiers thought that they were deep enough they would shoot them, making 1 person lay on top of another into the deep trenches that the Nazis captured. They basically made the captured men make their own grave and die in it. I think this fact is important because it showed how cruel the Nazis were. They did not care if one was hurt or if their family missed them. The Nazis would just kill them. They had to be lucky to survive.
#2a.) David Fabers family is a caring family that tries to protect 1 another. It seems that they are a very calm family because I have not read 1 page that David Fabers family had argued about something. It also sounds like they are a very religious family.
#2b.) I think he remembers it because he saw the Nazis kill his family, his friends and some strangers in front of his own eyes. It is kind of hard for someone to forget that tragic moment. It could haunt him forever. It is really hard to see the people you love die. I think that's why he remembers a lot in the beginning of the early chapters.
#3) I think he is a very brave young boy. He cares about 1 another especially his father. He went through some scary stuff to get to his father back and safe. Instead of leaving him there tortured and dying. David was also very lucky to go alone and survive because of the cruel Nazis taking over his homeland. He is already acting like a father. Taking care of people. Saving the ones he loves!
